first up, my favorite out of all the watches i took at this session, the Lange and Sohne Lot 243 A. Lange & Söhne Ref. 712.050  Glashütte I/SA., "Tourbograph Pour le Mérite - Hommage to F.A. Lange". Made in a limited edition of 50 pieces in 2010 commemorating the brand's 165th anniversary. Extremely fine and rare, 18K "honey" gold wristwatch with visible one-minute tourbillon regulator, split second chronograph, registers, 36-hour power reserve

Good sized at 41 * 15 mm. This impressive timepiece was created for A. LANGE & SÖHNE's 165th anniversary, aptly named "Hommage to F. A. Lange" along with 2 other commemorative models (Lange 1 Tourbillon and 1815 Moonphase). This is the second edition of the Pour le Mérite Series from its predecessor created in 2005. For this special occasion, the brand debuted their in-house gold named "honey" gold. Its light golden hue, warm and distinctly subtle in color, is reminiscent of a patina or a candle-lit reflection on antique silver pieces.

the movement is LOVELY... Cal. L 903.0, fausses cotes decoration, 43 ruby jewels, power equalization with chain and fusée maintaining power and stepped planetary gearing, tourbillon cage bearing 2 diamond endstones, lateral lever escapement with one-minute tourbillon regulator with equidistant polished steel three-arm carriage, Glucydur balance with screws adjusted to 5 positions, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring, hand engraved balance bridge.

Its highly-complicated movement, Cal. 903.0 features a constant-force fusée-chain mechanism often associated with pocket watches (with over 600 parts) ensuring the highest accuracy by achieving constant torque from the mainspring. The one-minute tourbillon with 84 parts also carries a historical design with the use of diamond endstones signifying the top-notch "1A" quality of the piece. It is a phenomenal example inside and out, which is a testament to the brand's commitment to its tradition of excellence and innovation.

next, the lovely Vacheron Constantin Limited Edition Masque set. this is a beautiful set... Vacheron Constantin Ref. 86070, Genève, "Métiers d'Art, Les Masques 2007" First Series. Limited Edition of 25 sets. Very fine and unique, self-winding, water-resistant, a set of 4 comprising an 18K yellow gold, pink gold, white gold and platinum wristwatches with "Mask" dials, day and date

 A) Case No. 1144052, 18K pink gold with a motif of an antique mask from Indonesia. 

B) Case No. 1143954, platinum with a motif of an antique mask from Congo. 

C) Case No. 1143974, 18K white gold with motif of an antique mask from Alaska. 

D) Case No. 1144001, 18K yellow gold with a motif of an antique mask from China. note how the artisans reproduced the verdigris on the 1000 year old funeral mask from the Chinese Liao dynasty

next up some loveies from Patek.... some wrist watches to start... two Patek 5296 with special dials. Made in the limited edition of 15 pcs to commemorate " 150 anni Somazzi 1860-2010".

the always lovely 3970 (Lot 291)... Very fine and very rare, astronomic, 18K yellow gold wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, perpetual calendar, moon phases

Matte silver dial with applied yellow gold baton indexes, outer minutes/seconds divisions, auxiliary dials for the seconds, the 24 hours, the 30 minute register, the leap year and the days of the month, apertures for the days of the week, the months and the moon phases

Cal. 27-70 Q, stamped with the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 24 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, Gyromax balance adjusted for heat, cold, isochronism and 8 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating free-sprung Breguet balance spring.

to pocketwatches... Lot 222 Patek Philippe, Genève, Ref. 866/12. Made in 1971. Unique and exceptional, 18K yellow gold, keyless dress watch with polychrome painted on enamel miniature "Guerre Des Souabes" signed M. Bischoff. MADAME. BISCHOFF Along with Suzanne Rohr and L. Pellarin- LeRoy, was one of the very few enamellists capable of producing such exquisite work for Patek Philippe. Her scrupulous attention to detail and long experience of the technique of painting on enamel could perhaps be said to have reached its zenith in the creation of the present watch.

and the next one by Suzanne Rohr... Patek Philippe, Genève, Ref. 865/084. The miniature by Suzanne Rohr after Albert Anker (1831-1910). Accompanied by the original Patek Philippe fitted box and Certificate of Origin, Japanese registered guarantee card and booklets. Sold on 11th November 1983. Extremely fine and unique, 18K yellow gold, keyless dress watch with exceptional polychrome painted on enamel miniature Grandfather with sleeping granddaughter.

movement No. 933285, Cal. 17''' 170, rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, stamped twice with the Seal of Geneva quality mark, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronisms and fi ve positions, self-compensating blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator.

next up... a very pretty jlc minute repeater ;) Lot 223 Jaeger-LeCoultre, "Pièce Unique Master Minute Repeater Venus,'' case No. 0165, Ref. 151.2.67.S. Unique and exceptional, oversized, minute-repeating, water-resistant 18K pink gold wristwatch with 15-day power reserve indication, Grand Feu enameled dial of "The Venus Anadyomene" by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres.

not a bad back too... you can't see much of the movement but it houses Cal. 947, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 43 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, duo spring barrels, repeating on gongs by activating slide on the band.

An Independent next... Urwerk 202 (Lot 111) Urwerk, Genève, Twin Turbine Regulation, Automatic, No. 10, Ref. 202ALTiN. Made in a limited edition circa 2009. Very fine, rare and futuristic, rectangular sculpted, waterresistant, titanium Chronometer wristwatch with digital time indicated by a patented revolving satellite complication with telescopic minute and hour orbiting satellites, moon phases and day & night indication.

Black ring with painted luminous Arabic numerals, 3 hour-satellites with internal Geneva crosses rotate on an orbital cross, indicating hours and minutes.

a Harry Winston Lot 113 Harry Winston, "Tourbillon a Glissiere," No. 23/25, case No. 023395, Ref. 350-MATRL. Made in a limited edition of 25 pieces in circa 2009. Very fine and very rare, large, self-winding, 18K pink gold wristwatch with visible one-minute tourbillon with diamond end stone, platinum sliding weights, linear power reserve indication

Cal. CC-CHW97A, 37 jewels, lateral lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating fl at balance spring, brushed steel one-minute tourbillon carriage with three equidistant curved arms and blued steel screws.

and last but not least... Lot 85 J. ULLMAN & CO. CHINESE MARKET CARILLON GRANDE SONNERIE MINUTE REPEATING HUNTING CASE YELLOW GOLD AND ENAMEL J. Ullmann & Co., Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, locations in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tientsin, No. 2100. Made circa 1900. Fine, 14K yellow gold, pearl-set and enamel, keyless hunting cased trip minute repeating pocket watch. back with a one goat and two woman, band decorated with red enamel inlay, the front and rear bezels set with pearls,

movement ~ 20"`, matte gilt, double train with differential winding, 28 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with overcoil, index regulator, striking the quarters on three gongs with three hammers, centrifugal governor between the dial and dial plate, Silence/Chime selection lever on the bezel border, repeating activated by a trip push- piece in the band.
