falling in love again? charmed by the Patek 5070G
having handled the lange datograph, the vc les historiques and malte chrono and the 5070... i can say for certain that, with my wrist size and overall size, this patek is the best modern classic styled chrono out there for me. the dial is gorgeous, the case size and height are proportionate and as noted its just the right size for my 7 inch wrist... it also is the most crazy priced amongst all the chronos mentioned, with a lemania 2310 based patek ch27-70 movement that some say may be discontinued in the PP range which has led to pieces containing it selling at a premium and being seen as exclusive as they may no longer be produced after the run of 5070Ps...
so very nice in the metal... pictures do not do this watch justice
the dial is just wonderful... wonderful fonts, markings and hands. it all comes together perfectly
the hour numbers are interesting... on closeup they look to be made of some rubber like material
wonderfully executed and a very beautiful watch... be still my beating heart ;)
the movement is no slouch either... the classic handwind column wheel lemania based ch27-70... its no dato movement but its a fine classic styled chrono movement... oh and people don't wear their watches this way round so based on faces, the 5070s face beats the dato... but it cost almost twice as much i suppose...
wonderful calatrava deployant buckle...
we have a winner ladies and gentlemen... the patek 5070 is the king! & the crowd goes wild :)
whats better than one 5070 then? easy answer is ... two 5070s :)
the yellow gold 5070... first to be discontinued... a lovely watch too...
closeup of the dial... applied gold indices...

One of the nicest Patek watches IMO. I particularly love the RG version. Elegant and classic.
