A Simple Classic Time Piece by A Great Artist
In this watch collecting journey you may come across many, many, many, many timepieces... some are special and some watch makers are special...
the following pictures are of a watch that is truly beautiful and made by a great artist whom i admire and respect... vianney halter has made some wonderful timepieces such as the antiqua, trio, classic... pieces in his futur anterieur collection as well as other masterpieces... a significant amount of work on time pieces bearing his name are done by hand and ably so by himself and watchmakers at his atelier in st. croix. and they are amazing works of art...
more importantly, these are pictures of a watch that has joined my very humble and small collection :) i hope u enjoy these photos of my vh classic and i highly recommend that you take some time to explore his world and the wonderful creations in it if u haven't done so already. check out these links to information and his site... cheers, raphmeister

Congrats Raph! Gorgeous watch and a wonderful addition to your collection. Great shots!
Why no wristshots? :)

Yes, a nice new one for you, and, at least to me a bit of a move from the other watches (smaller and simpler, perhaps?) that most of I seem to see on your wrist. Enjoy it!
Kyle
thanks kyle... i think i am open to both big and small watches... due to my size i may not wear something thin and >= 36mm eg an old slim calatrava may look off.
the vh classic wears a bit bigger because of its lug design and it suits my wrist in my eyes :)

Hi Raph,
Congrats on this beautiful time piece.. i've seen it in mags, never in real life but your photos only serve to further highlight my appreciation for this classic timepiece.
I am sure its much much better looking at it real life!
Best wishes again,
Kus

Interesting watch but it is rather subtle. Perhaps that's the key selling point. What would be the estimate resale value for this watch like? The retail price seemed quite over-priced to me.
I read your earlier article on "false limited" and agree that many watch brands today price their watches way too high on "exotic" materials, change of dials/colour, and branding. Many brands purposefully have a "limited" production to artificially create the "demand".
I hope note, but this may be one of many "independent" labels that will gradually "die off" after a while. Too overpriced, too little stock.
Hi Anonymous
I disagree with you on the last part.
There are many falsely limited watches and there are true independents and Vianney is the latter. I suggest you read more about him and his work to get a better understanding of it.
At the same time, his designs are not for everyone and may not call to you but nevertheless, he is a true independent and an artist artisan and i hope that more come to appreciate his work.
Cheers

Stunning watch, from the first moment I saw this model, I liked every detail of it.

howdy again,
i thought about it long and hard, but ultimately decided to give it a miss. love the watch, esp the rotor!! but alas, bit too small for me. dial look even smaller then its 36mm suggest.
still, i must say its a good piece. just been told prices going up 30% in q4.
hey darth
it may not be for everyone but i love it :) horological art at its finest...
if u find it too small, the trio and antiqua are larger but of course come at a significant price difference.
'too small' may be more a state of mind than anything else. i am rather large sized but i love the size of this watch as i love my ap roo. didnt know of the price increases and not sure if thats the smartest thing to do during these times... but we'll see.
cheers
