Speed Racer! Racing Machines for the Wrist!

my take on Richard Mille watches is simple. some of the non-entry level ones kick ass. lets not talk about the RM005 and RM010 and the RM011 as they have vaucher movements and for the RM011 the added dubois depraz chrono module. [fyi vaucher manufacture is part of the Sandoz Family Foundation. it provides its movements to Parmigiani Fleurier, Hermes(who owns a large chunk of it) and Bovet amongst others] these are aesthetically pretty cool but lack the oomph! substance of the higher end and stratospherically priced rattrapantes, tourbillons, and other extreme interpretations of the 'racing machine' concept in the lineup. these latter ones involve some cool work by AP Renaud et Papi. from an aesthetics standpoint though, the older RM008v2 RM009, RM015 and RM012 appeal a lot more to me than the ones in recent years including the all greys.

overall the concepts are great and it and their vision is what has made Richard Mille a lot of $$$ in a short space of time imo. still a young brand with less than 10 years to it, it will be interesting to see the path it takes in the future. whatever the case, it has changed the face of haute horlogerie and had significant impact in its short existence. for me, i am thankful that it brought some of the following watches into our reality, although i doubt i would ever buy them even if i had the dough :) too many other watches to buy with that kind of moolah. enjoy the following pics of some speedy racing machines for the wrist! :)

I didn't know some RM's don't even have in-house or R&P movements. I hope for RM that their success will continue and that they won't become the new Franck Muller.

Have a nice weekend,

sorry didnt respond to this sooner... RMs are priced very high but i guess as long as they sell thats not an issue :) i think they have lost the plot a little with their newer releases... a lot of color changes to base models ala the Royal Oak Offshores and Hublots...

cheers
