"Ejector seat? you're joking..." James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 on sale

if i were rolling in it, this be the car to get :) I remember growing up watching Sir Sean Connery as the suave agent licensed to thrill as well as kill and him zipping about in this great car... gadgets galore with the flipping number plates so that when you drive cross a border you can change to that country's car plates so that enterprising folks there don't target you... but with a flash car like that they may be inclined... right until you bring up the machine guns ;)

it will be up for auction thru auto auctioneers RM auctions on Oct 27 and has an estimate of US$6mn (i am not bidding of course but i hope it does well :) Note it was bought in 1969 by radio DJ Jerry Lee who paid $12k for it back then. The DB5 comes equipped with all the original 'Q' gadgets and modifications seen in the movies, including front-mounted machine guns(u gotta replace em wif real ones though ;) rear pop-up bulletproof shield(how cool is that?), revolving numberplates(same question as before), oil-slick sprayer, smoke screen, tracking device, with the switches in the arm rest and the removable roof panel that allowed Bond to jettison his mum-in-law, i mean, unwanted passenger from the Aston's ejector seat ;) using a red button in the gear shift iirc... if u check out other pics on the net though, it looks like it could do with a re-upholstery even though its noted as restored.
